as the util-linux and passwd maintainer, I am open to changing the
default PATH components.

However, we need to be careful. For this reason I believe at least
these things shall be done first:

1) an archive rebuild, to find build failures. Packages failing to
build because of the PATH change, need to be fixed first.

2) an archive rebuild to find which packages now build differently.
The causes for these need to be understood, and if necessary the
packages need to be fixed first.

After 1 + 2 are done, we can revisit this topic.

Is anyone of you willing to execute 1 + 2?
