    Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading firmware-intel-graphics from 20240709-2~bpo12+1 to 20250410-2~bpo12+1 I noticed errors in the i915 module that also
caused the display to flicker and shut down. Moreover, X11 sometimes
hung fatally (uninterruptible sleep => only fixable by reboot).

Downgrading firmware-intel-graphics to 20240709-2~bpo12+1 resolved all
    issues for me so far.

I am using kernel 6.12.30+bpo-amd64 on an Intel Atom E3826 with
    integrated graphics.

This appears to have a gen7 GPU which, so far as I can see, does not use
    any firmware from firmware-intel-graphics.

Do you need a full dmesg or more information about my hardware?

Yes, full kernel log and output of "lspci -nnvv", please.

    Ben.

    Hi Ben,

    Thanks for reaching out.

It appears that the bug has been gone with a kernel upgrade to 6.12.32+bpo-amd64 (and firmware-intel-graphics on 20250410-2~bpo12+1).

Its running on the newer kernel/firmware for several days now without
any issues. So, it was probably a kernel issue (although I don't know
why downgrading the firmware package had worked, too).

So, I guess we can close the issue.

    Best
    Maximilian
