• Bug#266726: bugs.debian.org: Bug log corruption(?) on #266705, possibly

    Severity: important

I just filed bug#266705, but the bug log didn't go further than 'Report forwarded', the usual second and third entries 'acknowledgement sent'
and 'message received at submit' are _not_ in the log.

I made a typo in x-debbugs-cc, it has:
    X-Debbugs-cc: [email protected]

Maybe that caused debbugs to choke?

For completeness, below the mail from my sent-mail folder.

    Severity: wishlist

If a client does a LOGIN on the uw-imapd server while plain text
authentication is disabled (as conveyed via the LOGINDISABLED
capability), UW returns a NO response, meaning: credentials invalid.

But, it'd be more correct to return BAD (command unknown or arguments
invalid), as the LOGIN command is invalid, from the RFC:

    | A client implementation MUST NOT send a LOGIN command if the
    | LOGINDISALED capability is advertised.

With the BAD, which is sometimes displayed to the user, you can
advertise the reason for the LOGIN refusal (plaintext authentication
    disabled), which eases debugging.
