Hi Jeremy,
Policy says that a package's description "should should describe the
package (the program) to a user (system administrator) who has never met
it before so that they have enough information to decide whether they
want to install it".
This package's description is clearly misleading. While "home-grown"
may alert people who have at least a small knowledge of crypto it might
suggest to the normal user that this is in fact a useful utility that
will protect ones data.
Given that it is not useful encryption really, this is either a serious
or grave bug.
Peter
