• Bug#266634: libapache2-mod-auth-mysql: child pid #### exit signal Segme

From Steve Halasz@1:229/2 to All on Wed Aug 18 16:40:09 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: libapache2-mod-auth-mysql
    Version: 4.3.3
    Severity: important

After upgrading to to 4.3.4 the auth dialog comes up, but any subsequent attempt
to view a protected page kills the child process and nothing is returned to the browser. Downgrading to 4.3.3 solves the problem.

This line appears in the error_log for each attempted page view:

[Wed Aug 18 09:21:07 2004] [notice] child pid 2506 exit signal Segmentation fault
    (11)
[Wed Aug 18 09:21:07 2004] [notice] child pid 5068 exit signal Segmentation fault
    (11)
[Wed Aug 18 09:21:26 2004] [notice] child pid 5071 exit signal Segmentation fault
    (11)
[Wed Aug 18 09:21:33 2004] [notice] child pid 5076 exit signal Segmentation fault
    (11)
    etc...

I'll post a stack trace if I can figure out how to produce one.

    Thanks,
    Steve

I have a nasty suspicion that it may be because you're running a version of Apache 2 less than 2.0.50-9. They changed the ABI for external modules in
that release, and I had to do a rebuild on all arches.

For now, downgrade libapache2-mod-auth-mysql or, if you want to be a real winner, upgrade apache 2 to at least 2.0.50-9 and let me know if that fixes
the problem. I'll ask the apache 2 maintainer what's up and see if I need
to put a versioned dep on the package.
