Marcus' original announcement included this typo, IIRC.
No it didn't. Marcus wrote "/dev/vts".
Could someone (Jeff?) add some small snippet when running
native-install about the new console?
I think just pointing out the command should be enough, as it works out-of-the-box, and as Marco said, the Hurd console will be run by
default at some point (mostly pending that linkref bug I guess)
