Please don't, I am closing the duplicated bug for now.
It's not surprising that this cross-compiler for a 32-bit target can't
be built reliably on 64-bit architectures. ftpmasters, please remove
the ia64 and alpha binaries for this package.
This target is 8-bit for the 68hc11 and 16-bit for the 68hc12. This sort
of cross-compiler could be built on 64-bit architectures. Just have a
look at gcc-avr for example, or even at this package. The version in
Sarge is working correctly on 64-bit architectures.
I think Sarge could be shipped with the version currently in it, at it
is working correctly and has no other bugs. The new version would be for
Sarge + 1, as I am not sure I'll have the time and the skills to debug
that (though I know in which part of the files is the bug), and as it is
not an important target for the gcc guys.
I am therefore tagging this bug as Sid (I should have done that before).
Bye,
Aurelien
