• Bug#266223: gnome-gv won't display PDF files with gs-gpl

From Ian Bruce@1:229/2 to All on Tue Aug 17 05:40:08 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: gnome-gv
    Version: 2.6.2

It appears that gnome-gv cannot interpret any PDF file when used in
conjunction with gs-gpl v8.01 . I believe that this is because the
command-line options for gs-gpl are different than those for gs-aladdin. Perhaps some sort of wrapper script to resolve this problem would be in
    order.

If the response to this bug report is going to be "gnome-gv is not a PDF reader", then I must ask why there are options labelled "convert PDF to
PS" and "convert PDF to DSC" in the preferences dialog. If gnome-gv is
really not intended to interpret PDF, then these should be removed.

I would also like to request that there be a button in the same dialog
window to reset these items to their default values, which are rather complicated. I was unable to discover what user configuration file
contained the new values for these options after they were modified.

    Oups :-)
I have Cc' the uptream maintainer, maybe he likes to remove this options when they are no longer needed.
