• Bug#266208: jikes-gij: obsolete-relation-form

From Adrian Bunk@1:229/2 to All on Tue Aug 17 03:00:12 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: jikes-gij
    Version: 1:1.21.1-2
    Severity: normal

    The dependency on
    libgcj4 (< 1:3.3.4-4)
violates section 7.1. of you policy.

    It should be
    libgcj4 (<< 1:3.3.4-4)

BTW: lintian gives a warning for this bug.

You are correct. Do you need this for Sarge though? jikes-gij will work
unless you have libgcj4 (=1:3.3.4-4) installed which is very unlikely. I
would rather fix this with some other jikes bugs after Sarge is released
since autobuilders will be working overtime until then.

Besides the fact that sarge is IMHO _far_ from being ready:

Why do you want to postphone bug fixes after the next release?

It might not affect the magic RC bug count everyone is focussed on, but shouldn't be as many bugs as possible be fixed before a release to get a
    good release???
