    BTW: lintian gives a warning for this issue.

    Yes I think it's from libdbh having the rpath in it's pkgconfig file.

    Thanks for filing this bug - I'd forgotten about this issue.

    You'll also file the rpath in other things depending on libdbh.

    I don't think it's helpful to upset everything before sarge however
    especially as we'd need libdbh to build everywhere and only then could
    we reupload to force a new build of its dependencies.

    With testing, there's anyway much luck involved in the question whether
    a package will be in sarge...

    This is not an urgent issue, but if it gets fixed in libdbh1.0-dev the
    fix will sooner or later get into all affected packages.
