This is an automatic notification regarding your Bug report
#265746: liblog4j1.2-java-doc: javadoc section is empty,
which was filed against the liblog4j1.2-java-doc package.

    Now, all */classes.html (not /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/config/classes.html)
    are missed because all /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/*
directory (excluding config) contain javadoc generated documentation.

The following files are 0 sized: /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/helpers/BoundedFIFO.html
    /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/package-summary.html

    /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/fulltree.html
    report empty list.

The following files contains only the xml declaration: /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/WriterAppender.html
    /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/TTCCLayout.html /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/MDC.html /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/PatternLayout.html
    /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/Priority.html /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/Level.html /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/AppenderSkeleton.html
    /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/Hierarchy.html /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/RollingFileAppender.html
    /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j/ConsoleAppender.html

    Other html files in /usr/share/doc/liblog4j1.2-java-doc/docs/api/org/apache/log4j
    directory are allmost completely useless.

    API documentation still unusable.

please consider to distribute original documentation instead of Gjdoc
    generated version.

    regards

Maybe we can make an exception about this but it's a violation of the
policy because if we cannot use gjdoc to build the javadoc, it means we
have to use non-free javadoc tools and that means the package should go
    back to contrib.

By the way, I'm not sure gjdoc will be fixed before Sarge release.

Another way (but it'll take some time!) is to build the documentation
with Doxygen or with another free tool.

    Cheers,

Is it required by policy that the documentation must be buildable from
    source? :)

    You are lucky!

In that case I will use the original javadocs as they are available in
the upstream distribution, so I really don't see that as a DFSG
    violation.

Sight. Maybe we'll re-evaluate this when javadoc generation will be
    solved.
