Package: gawk
Version: 3.1.4-1
When I let gawk process an input file, it treats upper case letters as
lower case letters. This seems to occurs only in various UTF-8 locales.
I have tested it with nb_NO.UTF-8, en_GB.UTF-8, de_DE.UTF-8,
fr_FR.UTF-8.
When I'm using a non UTF-8 locale as no_NO or de_DE, gawk works fine.
Version 3.1.3-3 was the previously installed one and worked propperly.
transcript:
$ awk -f command.awk input.txt
a - lower case
A - lower case
Please find command.awk and input.txt in the attached file example.tgz.
Perhaps this problem ist related to bug report #264829
I am using Debian GNU/Linux unstable, kernel 2.4.26-1-386,
locale de_DE.UTF-8
