• Bug#141748: OpenCA packaging status

From Alessandro Razeto@1:229/2 to Jeremy T. Bouse on Mon Aug 16 13:30:12 2004
    From: [email protected]

Well actually the last snapshot RC5 builds with only a patch (needed for autoconf stuff) and one for setting destdir. If you read the openca-devel
ml you hat notice this. The RC6, which was scheduled 2 week ago should
fix these problems; I'm waiting for it before some other tests.
BUT apart from these small patches the debian engine works, and you can download it from the debian folder in the openca CVS repository.
If you want to restart you can do it, but actually a packaging is
present; I need nome testers since my time too is very low.
If you want the paches needed for RC5 let me know.

I spent too much time working to get 0.9.2-RC5 packaged. I need this to
be packaged for work and am able to take care of it if it's not
currently being worked on. I've already looked at the binary DEBs
created by Alessandro but didn't notice any of the source deb files
needed to build them. I'm working on the packaging from scratch at this
point but should hopefully have something together shortly as I have it building and it's just a matter of arranging the packaging.

    Regards,
    Jeremy

Due to time constraints, I am no longer working on OpenCA. I think it
would be really good though if we could get it into Debian, even if it
is too late (probably) for Sarge.

I believe Alessandro has done a lot of work to get it going, hopefully
he will respond and indicate the current status.

I seem to recall that the Debian directory is in CVS on the upstream's
CVS server, I haven't tried to access it.
