I know. Just curious: what do you need to use the la file for?

Please see bug #253894. It was specifically requested that I remove
the depends on libdb4.2-dev.

If you still disagree with the change after reading the above bug
report, then please raise the issue on debian-devel.

Please see bug #253894. It was specifically requested that I remove
the depends on libdb4.2-dev.

when building evolution, expand this .la. (Bug#265647)
