The fortune in file platitudes says "May you live in uninteresting times.
-- Chinese proverb" when in fact the proverb is "May you live in
interesting times", which is why its an interesting and clever proverb:
the curse is that interesting happenstances will vex and harm you, whereas
a fortune that you may live in uninteresting times is entirely
uninteresting and is so banal as to be the same as "May things be boring
for you so that nothing bad happens" which is quite an obvious statement
and unworthy of being called a proverb. Note that a Google search yields
57 results for the incorrect phrase and 10,800 results for the correct
    phrase.

    Cheers,

    Chris Hagar
