• Bug#265962: Symlinks trying to be created to non-existent files?

From Andrew Joyce@1:229/2 to All on Mon Aug 16 00:40:08 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: mailscanner
    Version: 4.32.5-2

I tried to upgrade from 4.32.5-1 to 4.32.5-2 and ran into some
problems. I thought maybe it was a transient thing and didn't properly
write down those errors. I purged the package again and decided to just install it fresh. Now I can not even install it fresh without
problems. I get the following message when trying to install:

(Reading database ... 30243 files and directories currently installed.) Unpacking mailscanner (from mailscanner_4.32.5-2_all.deb) ...
    ln: creating symbolic link `/usr/share/MailScanner/MailScanner/Custom'
to `/etc/MailScanner/Custom': No such file or directory
    dpkg: error processing mailscanner_4.32.5-2_all.deb (--unpack):
subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
    Errors were encountered while processing:
    mailscanner_4.32.5-2_all.deb

I cannot figure out why I am getting this message. I can only presume
this is a bug in the package since my system is effectively clean of any previous versions to the best of my knowledge.

    Andrew
