    reassign 252400 libpam-ldap
    retitle 252400 non-root use requires pam_ldap.conf be world-readable
    thanks

ok, the problem seems to be that libpam-ldap does not have
a setgid/setuid-helper (root or group shadow) that lets one

*) keep the configuration file read-only for root (because of the bind-pwd)
*) and let non-root applications like xscreensaver authenticate.

currently the only way to make xscreensaver work with libpam-ldap is
to have pam_ldap.conf readable for everybody.

    regards
    az
