• Bug#265653: Doesn't work on remote display

    When logging in with ssh -X on a remote machine i can't start ooffice, but other X apps work fine. In the example output localhost:14.0 is the dummy address that ssh -X creates.

    it works fine here. i386 -> i386, and i386 -> alpha -> i386 though...

    OpenOffice.org checks what X it is running on supports (XRender etc.).

    This does not seem to work when architecture connecting from is not the architecture where you connect to.

    What is the arch of the box you are connecting to? Also powerpc?

    I got a similar report per IRC some months ago, too but that didn't make it
    to the BTS..

    Sorry for not being clear, i'm connection to a powerpc box from an i386. I've tried some combinations:

    X server | ooffice box | result
    i386 | ppc | failure
    i386 | sparc | no problem
    ppc | i386 | no problem

    Also note that openoffice is trying to probe the extensions on the wrong display!
