Hello,
After upgrading from woody to sarge today, I found that bind9
couldn't transfer a zone:
Aug 14 17:18:55 h named[18078]: dumping master file: /etc/bind/tmp-XXXXMBQFly: open: permission denied
Aug 14 17:18:55 h named[18078]: transfer of 'example.com/IN' from 8.14.2.8#53: failed while receiving responses: permission denied
Aug 14 17:18:55 h named[18078]: transfer of 'example.com/IN' from 8.14.2.8#53: end of transfer
Obviously, bind9 couldn't resolve example.com's names.
I work around the problem with: chmod g+w /etc/bind/
h:~# ls -ld /etc/bind/
drwxrwsr-x 2 root bind 4096 Aug 14 17:24 /etc/bind/
