If I just start Xprt from the command line, it works OK:

I guess there is some problem in the init script that's
causing the -fp option to be set wrongly, but it is too
complex for me to look at it at the moment.
Martin (and others), could you try the following work-around:
In /etc/init.d/xprint at line 343, use
"sort -u -r"
instead of
"sort -u"
This may provide another way of getting to your fixed font.
