• Bug#239834: is plone still maintained ?

From AKL. Mantas Kriauciunas@1:229/2 to All on Fri Aug 13 18:20:10 2004

    Hi,

I wonder is plone still maintained. Debian 3.1 (Sarge) soon will be frozen,
so it's very important to have stable and usable software in Sarge.

Current plone version can't enter to sarge, so please package a new
version, which is more usable and more stable than outdated (1 year old)
    1.0.5 version.

    Thanks for maintaining.

Plone will not be in sarge.

Plone 2.x will (eventually) be in unstable.

Plone and zope change too frequently to worry about hitting Debian
releases, in my opinion. If we rushed to get plone 2.x into sarge,
it'd be out of date long before the post-sarge Debian is ready for
    release.

There are unofficial and pretty-good plone 2 packages made by
Christian Heimes (sp?) -- ask on #plone at freenode.net if you have
trouble finding those, or search the.

As I've said before, if anyone wants to take over maintainership
of plone, i'm hapy do relinquish it -- I won't have time to devote
to plone until sometime in September.
