    Hi
after updating my system from woody my Internet-connections were really
slow (no connect to sites that work before and long times until a site is finally
displayed). After long searching (it took me 2 days) i found that you
added kernel-space pppoe support to pppoeconf. This unfortunately doesn't work for me (btw
i have a german dsl-provider called arcor), but the old (aka woody)
method of user-space pppoe works. So please could you either make
kernel-space pppoe optional / selectable or post a big warning for poor
suckers like me that you chnaged the pppoe connect mechanismus.

    Additional Info:

with kernel space pppoe i get the following in plog:

Aug 12 11:39:33 server pppd[688]: Timeout waiting for PADO packets
    Aug 12 11:40:03 server pppd[688]: Starting link

    reassign 259855 ppp
retitle pppoe plugin breaks where pppoe worked before
    thanks

    Hello Jan!

Please add your dsl-provider file to this report. I am reassigning it to
ppp since its pppoe plugin is claimed to completely replace the pppoe
utility, therefore its maintainer should care about such failure.

    Regards,
    Eduard.
