• Bug#265409: nfs-kernel-server: exportfs should not give a warning about

From Russell Coker@1:229/2 to All on Fri Aug 13 03:30:08 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: nfs-kernel-server
    Version: 1:1.0.6-3
    Severity: normal

    /exports machine(ro)

Above is the /etc/exports line and below is the result of running
"exportfs -r". I think that the error message is inappropriate. A read-only export shouldn't have any writes (atime updates don't count) and therefore whether async or sync is requested should not matter.

    # exportfs -r
exportfs: /etc/exports [4]: No 'sync' or 'async' option specified for export "1.2.3.4:/exports".
    Assuming default behaviour ('sync').
NOTE: this default has changed from previous versions
