• Bug#265285: Segmentation fault in 'loadkeys'

    From Markus Baertschi@1:229/2 to All on Thu Aug 12 16:50:10 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: console-tools
    Version: 0.2.3dbs-55
    Severity: Critical

    The loadkeys program segfaults when attempting to load the keymap for my keyboard.

    $ loadkeys -h
    Usage: loadkeys [option...] [mapfile...]
    valid options are:
    -c --clearcompose clear kernel compose table
    -d --default load default keymap file
    -m --mktable output a "defkeymap.c" to stdout
    -s --clearstrings clear kernel string table
    -q --quiet be silent
    -v --verbose report the changes
    -v --verbose report more changes
    -h --help display this help text and exit
    -V --version display version information and exit
    $ loadkeys -V
    loadkeys: (console-tools) 0.2.3
    $ loadkeys /usr/share/keymaps/i386/qwertz/fr_CH.kmap.gz
    Segmentation fault
    $

    This is happening on a fresh install of Debian (UserLinux) in a VMWare partition.
    I've started with the latest businesscard iso and chose 'unstable' as documented for
    a UserLinux install.

    Hmm,

    Interesting. I don't have VmWare and can't reproduce
    this. Can you please do a
    ulimit -c unlimited
    and send me a copy of the core (tar.gz it, please).

    Thanks
