• Bug#265274: mutt: Password bug with POP mailboxes

From Andrew Ferrier@1:229/2 to All on Thu Aug 12 16:00:17 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: mutt
    Version: 1.5.6-20040722+1
    Severity: normal

If I invoke mutt with the command:

    mutt -f pop://'[email protected]'@myispspop3server.com

then all is well. If I then switch to another (local) mailbox with the 'c'
key, then try to switch back to that (or any other POP3 mailbox), by entering

    pop://'[email protected]'@myispspop3server.com

at the 'Open mailbox ('?' for list):' prompt, then, after entering my password, the following error message appears:

    Login failed. PASS: Invalid login

However, I have not entered an incorrect password (I have tried this many times).

    Thanks,
    Andrew:

PS: Thanks for your working on packaging mutt, it's a great mailer!

    Hello,

in the first command, the 'quotes' are removed by your shell; the quotes
don't do anything there. What happens if you 'c'hange to the

    pop://[email protected]@myispspop3server.com

folder inside Mutt? That should work.
