• Bug#265268: nagios: maintainerscripts call update-nagios to overwrite c

From Peter Palfrader@1:229/2 to All on Thu Aug 12 15:30:16 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: nagios
    Version: 2:1.1-11
    Severity: serious

The maintainer scripts of nagios-plugins (1.3.1.0-4) and
nagios-statd-server (3.09-3) overwrite any changes made to /etc/nagios/checkcommands.cfg unconditionally.

If it's in /etc, you have to keep changes made by the local admin.

You should probably place it in /var/lib/ the way you use it.

Also, the current comment does really not make much sense at all: hades:/etc/nagios# head -n4 checkcommands.cfg
    # This file was autogenerated on Thu Aug 12 15:00:26 CEST 2004 and
    # should not be manually altered. Use update-nagios to
    # build this file. If you need to add a command specification, edit
    # /etc/nagios/checkcommands.cfg

In command.cfg you say that local plugin definitions should be added to
this file, however you don't appear to use this file at all.
    Maybe add command.cfg to nagios.cfg

This problem has already been reported, and is already solved, in sid.

We're just waiting for the fix to propagate to sarge.

    This has been fixed too...

    Thanks,
