    From K Kane@1:229/2 to All on Thu Aug 12 14:40:10 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: libapache2-mod-php4
    Version: 4:4.3.8-5
    Severity: important

attempting to get phpMyAdmin working. apache2 fails restart, and it
seems to be a mod-php4 problem.

    werewolf:/etc/apache2/mods-enabled# a2enmod php4
Module php4 installed successfully; run apache2ctl graceful to enable. werewolf:/etc/apache2/mods-enabled# apache2ctl graceful
Syntax error on line 1 of /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/php4.load:
Cannot load /usr/lib/apache2/modules/libphp4.so into server: /usr/lib/apache2/modules/libphp4.so: undefined symbol: PKCS7_free

    please advise...

Try '/etc/init.d/apache2 force-reload' instead, and let me know if that
works any better. apache2+php4+graceful issues are fairly well known.
