• Bug#265242: nvidia-kernel-2.4.26-1-k7: X starts only after a second try

From Martin Henne@1:229/2 to All on Thu Aug 12 13:10:09 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: nvidia-kernel-2.4.26-1-k7
    Version: 1.0.6111+1
    Severity: important

When I startup my system, X wont start. A line in the XFree86.0.log says:

(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device!

But when I then, just after logging in at
the console, try to start X from the console (either
using '/etc/init.d/kdm/restart' or just 'X') all runs
fine! X comes up and I get a working system.
