• Bug#265227: vim-common: rvim complains about illegal operation in /usr/

From Matthew Wakeling@1:229/2 to All on Thu Aug 12 11:30:13 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: vim-common
    Version: 1:6.3-013+2
    Severity: important

When I run rvim, I get the following error:

    -------------BEGIN
    Error detected while processing /usr/share/vim/vimrc:
    line 57:
E145: Shell commands not allowed in rvim
Hit ENTER or type command to continue
    -------------END

This is caused by the vimrc trying to work out the papersize for the
case where you wish to print. It tries to use /bin/cat to read the
papersize, which fails because rvim refuses to perform unsafe operations
    like running external programs.
