Package: sendmail
Version: 8.13.1-3
Severity: normal
There are (at least) two questions when upgrading the sendmail package which i'd like to see avoided in future versions of the package:
Automagically regenerate the sendmail.cf configuration file? (Y/n)
and
Start sendmail now? (Y/n)
Since the obvious answer surely is always "Yes", there is no point in
asking them. Who wouldn't want to regenerate the sendmail.cf configuration
file when upgrading the package? And who wouldn't want to restart sendmail after an upgrade? So let's getr rid of these annoying questions.
If neither the upgrade of core packages like libc6 or locales requires any
user interaction, why should sendmail waste a users time? It would be nice
if this IMHO useless user interaction could be gotten rid of ASAP.
Thanks, P. *8^)
