Yes, it is now fixed, but at that time it wasn't fixed
(apt-get update and apt-get install module-init-tools
was showing the bug).

Did you read #263735 with attention ?

Sorry, but I didn't see it, as its severity was "wishlist" (and the
problem was much more important than that).

As in his messages, Marco d'Itri said that this was the fault of the manpages-fr package (e.g. see his latest comment in this bug #266735)
or just closed bugs as duplicates without any further explanation
(never mentioning #263735), I couldn't know that he fixed the problem
in module-init-tools.
