• Bug#267215: gnometab: FTBFS with dpkg-buildpackage -rsudo

From Andreas Metzler@1:229/2 to All on Sat Aug 21 10:00:12 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: gnometab
    Version: 0.7.4-5
    Severity: serious
Justification: fails to build from source

gnometab fail to build from source e.g on mips with:
    -------------------
    checking for xgettext... /usr/bin/xgettext
    configure: creating ./config.status
    ./configure: line 5707: ./config.status: Permission denied
    ./configure: line 5720: ./config.status: Permission denied
    -------------------

This is caused by "touch config.stamp" in debian/rules clean. -
The clean target runs as root, while the build target does not and the
build fails. - You may not _generate_ files in [clean] because they'll
be owned by root, if using -rsudo instead of -rfakeroot (touching
existing files should be ok.). - Simply removing the superfluous touch
    will probably solve the issue.
