• Bug#267174: aalib1-dev: dev package and libaa.la lack dependency on lib

    From Yann Dirson@1:229/2 to All on Sat Aug 21 01:40:09 2004
    From: [email protected]

    Package: aalib1-dev
    Version: 1.4p5-22
    Severity: serious

    libaa depends on libgpm, as the ELF header confirms.

    This means that programs that link against libaa.a also require
    libgpm.a, so aalib1-dev should depend on libgpmg1-dev.

    However, libgpm does not appear in libaa.la. Whereas it is no problem
    when linking dynamically, linking statically using libtool causes
    unresolved symbols, since libtool has no way of telling libaa.a
    requires libgpm.a.

    libaa.la Most probably has to read the following :

    dependency_libs=' -lgpm -lncurses -lslang -lm -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11 '
