    thanks

    Hi,

due to this new line in /etc/modprobe.d/aliases:

    alias autofs4 autofs

my autofs4 module is not working anymore. I can't load it with "modprobe autofs4" since the destination of the alias (autofs4 -> autofs) doesn't
    exist. I only have autofs4.ko, not autofs.ko in 2.6.7 and 2.6.8. So I
have to insmod the module manually (then, it works).

BTW: The Linux configuration dialog rather suggests this line:

    alias autofs autofs4

maybe this is the solution, but it works for me even without the line completely. Maybe this is because I don't have autofs but only autofs4.
Maybe we should ask the kernel maintainer to deactivate autofs since
autofs4 is already activated and supports autofs functionality as well.
    From the configuration help:

│ If you want to use the newer version of the automounter with more
│ features, say N here and say Y to "Kernel automounter v4 support",
    │ below.

    Thank for considering.

    bye,
    Roland
