    Package: installation-reports

    Debian-installer-version: RC1 from http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/sarge_d-i/i386/rc1/sarge-i386-netinst.iso
    uname -a: Linux (none) 2.6.7-1-386 #1 Thu Jul 8 05:08:04 EDT 2004 i686
    unknown
    Date: August 19th, 22:43 CEST
Method: Install from netinst CD, booting with either 2.4 or 2.6

    Machine: Intel D915GEVL board
Processor: Intel Pentium IV 2.8 GHz
    Memory: 1GB DDR2
Root Device: Seagate 200GB SATA (on ICH6 SATA controller)
    Root Size/partition table:
Output of lspci and lspci -n: netinst shell doesn't have lspci it
seems, and I don't have a working linux installation on it

    Base System Installation Checklist:
    [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

    Initial boot worked: [O]
    Configure network HW: [E]
    Config network: [O]
    Detect CD: [O]
    Load installer modules: [O]
    Detect hard drives: [E]
    Partition hard drives: [E]
    Create file systems: [ ]
    Mount partitions: [ ]
    Install base system: [ ]
    Install boot loader: [ ]
    Reboot: [ ]

    Comments/Problems:

Network hardware detection does not find the onboard e100 and prompts
    to load the network driver.
The SATA drives don't get detected. Manually loading libata and
    ata_piix didn't help.

Knoppix, or send us /proc/bus/pci/devices and /proc/pci.

We can't fix these without the PCI info.

I have now upgraded to a custom 2.6.8 kernel, and SATA now works on the installed system.
    Debian's kernel-image-2.6.8-1-686-smp from unstable didn't work,
though. I can send you my kernel config if of any help.

It would probably be better to file a separate bug on that package.
