    If you or anybody don't recall why this is the case (I don't), I think
    we should try without (in a package that won't reach sarge). If there
    are problems, they'd better be fixed in mktexlsr.

    So put it on your TODO for teTeX 3.0, which will be uploaded to
    experimental, when it will be released.
