I just wanted to confirm the behaviour Quim reported for sid als also happening with sarge/testing. It happens about once every five runs.
I also got the impression that gnome-apt is more likely to crash when
the 'rebuilding' dialog has the focus.
I don't see it at all, regardless of focus or number of runs. It might
have something to do with that I'm running on powerpc whereas you people
are in i386.
The followup report focus thing is also a bit suspicious, as is the
backtrace. I'm inclined to think there is a weird interaction between
gnome (UI), libapt, threading and signals. It would be useful if others
could reproduce this, and if someone who sees it can make a debug build of libapt and get a backtrace when run with that.
