xpdf version 3.00 gets Segmentation fault on
    http://www.kishou.go.jp/177jmh/JMH-2004-3-25(Eng).pdf

I can't reproduce that. If you don't have the Japanese support package >installed, you'll get a lot of error messages (and no text). As I
recall, there was a bug in an older version of xpdf (2.xx) where it
would crash if you didn't have the language support packge installed.

I've got all the Japanese stuff installed and I can see the file fine
in gv. Must be a Debian problem. OK, sending there.

Can you get a stack trace for that seg fault?

    #0 0x4008a4fd in FT_Outline_Decompose () from /usr/lib/libfreetype.so.6

I can't reproduce this; it loads and displays fine, and doesn't crash.

However, the strack trace looks just like the one in bug#254864,
which I CAN reproduce. I just forwarded that one to you Derek.
I've built Xpdf against our latest freetype library (2.1.7) and there's
    no difference.
