The 0.2.4 build of webp-pixbuf-loader has an issue with GdkPixbufLoader which causes it not to render webp images or create accurate thumbnails in Geeqie. 0.2.1 is unaffected but assumed to be compiled against a DSA-5497-1 vulnerable libwebp.

The current 0.2.5 upstream does not fix this but there is an active pull request which addresses this issue.

Geeqie seems to have merged a workaround which is refered to in the above pull request.

Can you see this problem with the version in unstable (I am guessing
this is fixed in webp-pixbuf-loader 0.2.7-1), but would like to have a confirmation that it is fixed.

Hi, I've updated to the latest geeqie (1:2.5-6 in trixie) and the webp thumbnails seem to work okay. The sid changelog doesn't seem to be
relevant to this bug but I can try it later if needed.

I recall I found some kind of workaround for this at the time, hinted by
    a self-compiled webp-pixbuf-loader_0.2.4-3-1_amd64.deb. That has long
been supplanted by 0.2.7-1+b1 without any regressions either.

Thanks for following up and this can be closed.
