    - ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Debian Security Advisory DSA-1965 [email protected] http://www.debian.org/security/ Giuseppe Iuculano
    January 06, 2010 http://www.debian.org/security/faq
    - ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Package : phpldapadmin
    Vulnerability : missing input sanitising
    Problem type : remote
    Debian-specific: no
    Debian bug : 561975
    CVE Id : CVE-2009-4427

It was discovered that phpLDAPadmin, a web based interface for administering LDAP servers, doesn't sanitize an internal variable, which allows remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary local files.

The oldstable distribution (etch) is not affected by this problem.

For the stable distribution (lenny), this problem has been fixed in version 1.1.0.5-6+lenny1.

For the testing distribution (squeeze), this problem will be fixed soon.

For the unstable distribution (sid), this problem has been fixed in version 1.1.0.7-1.1

We recommend that you upgrade your phpldapadmin package.

    Upgrade instructions
    - --------------------

    wget url
will fetch the file for you
    dpkg -i file.deb
    will install the referenced file.

If you are using the apt-get package manager, use the line for
    sources.list as given below:

    apt-get update
    will update the internal database
    apt-get upgrade
    will install corrected packages

You may use an automated update by adding the resources from the
    footer to the proper configuration.
