  • timely uploads of cross-toolchain-base

    Hi doko & Dimitri,

    I'd like to add an [autopkgtest] to sbuild to test crosscompilation.

    I was told by elbrus that this should only be done "if the cross-toolchain-base maintainers can commit to prompt uploads".

    I wanted to ask you as the cross-toolchain-base maintainers whether you think you could do that? It would also help with reducing the time that cross-building in unstable is broken because of a missing c-t-b upload.

    you probably should start doing that for one target, from my point of view there's not much gain doing that for every target.

    yes, as far as sbuild is concerned, we just want to avoid general regressions of its ability to cross-build (as happened in the past because of mistakes of mine). So testing just one architecture is completely fine with me and makes the check meaningful.

    I'd just choose crossing from amd64 (build) to arm64 (host). That might be one of the more popular combinations.

    elbrus is wrong. these uploads were done in a timely manner until the
    mess around the kernel headers which is out of my responsibility.
