Bei meinem, aktuelle auf Deutsch eingestellten System sind die

aber bist Du Dir sicher, dass sie �bersetzt werden/wurden?

Ich verstehe nicht, was das Problem ist. Geht es darum, was angezeigt
wird, wenn Du man 1 login aufrufst? Da bekomme ich eine Mischung von
Deutsch und Englisch, doch das ist doch erwartbar, bei der nun schon
lange f�lligen Aktualisierung der po-Datei.

Die drei Meldungen bez�glich des Zustands der Maileingangsdatei kann
das Problem doch einfach daher r�hren, dass sie in der po-Datei f�r
die Programmmeldungen nicht �bersetzt sind. Mit diesen Meldungskatalog
habe ich mich bisher nicht besch�ftigt, blo� mal �berflogen.

Bei mir kommt die Meldung, dass das Passwort aktualisiert werden
m�sste, auch in englisch.

Ich hatte diesen letzten Satz bewusst aber vielleicht
ungerechtfertigterweise gestutzt, weil ich den Eindruck habe, dass die Information veraltet ist. Aber ich habe den Aspekt, dass ulimit, umask
und nice durch login in die Sitzung eingebracht werden, nun drin. Es
wird ja nur gesagt, dass sie hinterlegt und �bernommen werden K�NNEN.
Satz lautet nun

Bei meinem, aktuelle auf Deutsch eingestellten System sind die Zeichenketten auf englisch. Das mag ein Konfigurationsfehler sein,
aber bist Du Dir sicher, dass sie übersetzt werden/wurden?

Ich verstehe nicht, was das Problem ist. Geht es darum, was angezeigt
wird, wenn Du man 1 login aufrufst? Da bekomme ich eine Mischung von
Deutsch und Englisch, doch das ist doch erwartbar, bei der nun schon
lange fälligen Aktualisierung der po-Datei.

Die drei Meldungen bezüglich des Zustands der Maileingangsdatei kann
das Problem doch einfach daher rühren, dass sie in der po-Datei für
die Programmmeldungen nicht übersetzt sind. Mit diesen Meldungskatalog
habe ich mich bisher nicht beschäftigt, bloß mal überflogen.

Bei mir kommt die Meldung, dass das Passwort aktualisiert werden
müsste, auch in englisch.

Wenn es nur ein temporäres Problem ist, dann ignoriere es. Wenn aber
die Zeichenkette auf absehbarer Zeit (die nächsten Monate, oder erst
nach der Veröffentlichung von Bookworm) übersetzt wird, dann wäre es
schon zu überlegen, hier die englische Fassung (ggf. mit Deutsch
dahinter in Klammern) anzugeben.

Teilweise wird ja auch nur die Doku übersetzt (z.B. für den Kernel,
Systemd, …), dann kommt eine Übersetzung von Programmausgaben erst
recht nicht in Frage.

Ich habe für die Handbuchseite jetzt den genauen Wortlaut der Programmmeldungen übernommen.

Beim Herumprobieren habe ich jetzt noch festgestellt, dass ich
englische Meldungen bekomme, wenn mich an einem Terminal tty1,
etc. anmelde, aber deutsche, wenn ich in einem xterm-Fenster mit su
tester2 die Identität tester2 annehmen will. Vermutlich ist in der
ersten Situation am tty-Terminal die Umgebungsvariable LANG noch nicht eingestellt, wenn das Programm die Meldungen erzeugt.

Danke, da ich mich i.d.R. auf der Konsole anmelde, habe ich das
Problem gesehen.

Ich verfolge das Problem nicht weiter
