• Bug#1110130: tasksel crashes if "Choose a Debian Blend for installation

From Cyril Brulebois@21:1/5 to All on Wed Jul 30 15:40:01 2025

    Hi,

    allan grossman <[email protected]> (2025-07-30):
Running tasksel under sudo, if I select "Choose a Debian Blend for installation" and then click OK tasksel seems to download some data and
    then crashes.

I'm not seeing it crash, just exit.

Available Debian Blends are not displayed and I'm returned to a command prompt.

tasksel/blendsel integration really got introduced to feature blends
during the installation process, which to the best of my knowledge is
    working fine.

If you want to choose blends after installation, `sudo blendsel` should
    just work?

    Cheers,

The blendsel thing was indeed added as a feature for within the installation process only.
But people are seing this entry as well, when they execute tasksel in the installed system (which is a legitimate use case of course).

The best solution might be, to modify tasksel, so that the "Install blends" entry is only shown in the installer environment?
