• UNIX contributors'/creators' Free/Libre/Opensource Software repositorie

From David Chmelik@21:1/5 to All on Sun Aug 28 12:08:19 2022
Is there a list of UNIX contributors/creators' Free/Libre/Opensource
Software (FLS, OSS, FOSS, FLOSS) source code repositories? I found Dr
Brian Kernighan and he recently updated the AWK programming language which
will appear on GitHub.com, and Rob Pike is there... what about others (of course sites like Savannah.GNU.org, NotABug.org, are better than GitHub, GitLab.com, SourceForge.net... don't know about BitBucket.org or other GitLabs...)

I'm interested to know through BSD UNIX beginning (to start of NetBSD,
FreeBSD, OpenBSD, OpenSolaris, latter partly BSD-derived though maybe more modelled on AT&T UNIX such as System V).

I'm interested to know even if they work(ed) on similar OS like Plan 9 (I
was told is OS by UNIX people) & GNU/Linux.

You probably want to search through the Archive of The Unix Heritage
    Society's mailing list.

    https://www.tuhs.org/

I think this covers lots of the material you mention.

The archives are extensive, so read through there first.

This GitHub traces through the history of the unix sources with diffs, and links to their GitHub pages where available (only ken and dennis)
