  • AT&T 5620 / 630 / 730 terminals

    Years ago, as a callow youth, I posted on this group asking about the Teletype/AT&T 5620 terminal. Back then it pretty quickly became apparent
    that I lacked the money to acquire one, the space to keep one, or the
    requisite 3B2 to actually do anything interesting with it.

    Now, having more money and more space, I'm looking again. Since there's
    now a 3B2 emulator (https://loomcom.com/3b2/emulator/), it seems like
    having just the terminal isn't such a problem.

    I've actually already acquired the Depraz mouse (a gift) and the
    associated keyboard (ebay), but the display+CPU unit seems to
    be in thin supply.

    Anybody have one they're willing to part with? The 5620 is my
    preference, given that I love the portrait screen, but the 630 and 730
    models would also be interesting. I'd also be interested in acquiring a
    real 3b2.

    The email in the From: field will work once you remove the simplistic
    anti-spam measure.

    I donated one with a keyboard issue to the System Source Computer Museum in Maryland this past spring. Mine had a DEC mouse retrofitted to it because
    I hated the big red rat, and I wish I hadn't tossed the rat.

    I don't know where you can get one, but if you are anywhere near Maryland
    I suspect the museum could use volunteers interested in such hardware.

    I liked the aesthetic of the big red rat enough that I built a
    from-scratch replica with a 3d-printed body and a laser sensor, but yeah
    it's really unergonomic for full-time use.
