  • iMac Mic weirdness

    Logged into a zoom call the other day to find my mic not working.
    Tested in app - dead.

    Reverted to the SO's MBA for the call.

    On this iMac:

    When using Facetime or Siri - no problem.

    Every other app (zoom, PhotoBooth, skype ...) the mic did not work.

    Tried all the obvious things (settings, permissions, etc) and even an
    SMC reset.

    Nothing.

    Then near the bottom of a "how to set your mic" page on howtogeek,
    something about turning keyboard dictation on / off in settings. It was already on, and turning it off fixed the issue. Works whether that
    setting is left on or off now.

    Weird one for the books.

    Can you get a little less dense? Why would you want to cap all commands
    on Mint to what can be done on PCs and Macs?

    You won't go into a cult meeting, chug all the firewater, sexually assault
    all the herd animals, steal the souvenirs and barf in the lap of Mike
    Easter without being disinvited. I suspect Shadow does not even know
    what is wrong with Breitbart. The bulk of the regulars in this group
    do programming either as recreation or as a job, so I have doubts anybody
    here thinks of automation to be "sorcery".

    Isis is trying to project their approach onto Snit Glasser. For as long
    as I can remember Isis has spurred the belief that Snit Glasser needs 'witnesses'
