Interesting review. Thanks for the link.
This is a completely different product than the Intel-predecessors.
That triggered my decision to switch from my MBP 15" to this super tiny
super performant powerpack for the everyday use. The very positive
experience with my wife's MBAir M2 also contributed.
My M2pro will arrive today.
CPU?

Storage?

Works absolutely smoothly. That little powerhouse allows a a very clean working desk. I simply love to work. Together with the Magickeyboard, a MacicMouse, a Dell 4K 27" screen simply a dream.
Tell us more once you get it.
I'm waiting for the next round of the iMac before deciding. Similar in
spec to the M2 Pro - maybe a touch higher spec?
Can you wait?
Sure. This iMac is a 2012 model - i7 quad core/HT with 24 GB of RAM so
for most of what I do it is more than adequate.
Where it falls down is in video rendering and video re-encodes. My SO's
M1 MBA is 2 - 3 times faster for that.
So - while I had hoped for a higher spec iMac (Mx) by now, I can still
wait another year if need be. And then I'll have another 10+ year Mac.
If the iMac they spec out is not to my taste, then I'll take a closer
look at the Mini or Studio. I may (shocker) even re-visit the notion of
a laptop.
But in an M2 Mini I would have spec'd everything higher than you did ...
for that extended life use argument. I'll also want to run legacy intel Windows on it - so Fusion (intel) under Rosetta II + Win XP - don't ask
- If that doesn't work - then I'll buy an old cheap Windows box for that
and VNC it to the Mac with a dummy HDMI on the Windows end.
