A British Columbia neighbourhood has rallied around its LGBTQ community members and filled its streets with rainbows after the town mistakenly took down a Pride flag last week.
Lisa Ebenal lives in Aldergrove near Langley, B.C., a small town east of Vancouver. She says she displayed the original flag on her property as a way to celebrate Pride Month.
“I mean, like everyone else I have friends and family that are part of the LGBTQ community,” she told HuffPost. “So I thought that would be a nice way to show my support as an ally.” (Greg: If your in my circle of friends and family and are gay

She draped the flag over a sign on her property with the neighbourhood’s name on it. But the next day, the flag went missing. Ebenal says she assumed some kids had pulled it down, so she promptly bought another one and hung it in its place. That one
went missing as well.

After a few calls to the town, Dailly
says the road manager of the township told him the flag had been taken down in error.
“Somebody took it upon themselves to phone the Township of Langley and complain that they found the flag offensive,” Dailly told HuffPost. “And I found it to be an attack on me personally, to say this was offensive.
In a statement, the Township of Langley confirmed they received a complaint about a flag covering a public sign. However, upon confirming that the flag was on Ebenal’s private property, they promptly returned it.
“The Township regrets the distress our confusion may have caused to the residents and neighbours and going forward will remind crews to check property locations of signs prior to taking action,” the statement read.

Once the original flag was returned, Ebenal says the neighbourhood came together not only to support Dailly and his partner Alan Baker, but the LGBTQ community as a whole.
“The rest of the neighbours really rallied around Malcolm and Alan, and decided they were going to all put up the same flag,” Ebenal said.
Since the weekend, the neighbourhood in Aldergrove has become a rainbow haven, as similar flags have popped up in windows and been draped across porches. Dailly says neighbours have repeatedly stopped by his house to share their support.
“Oh my god, these people are wonderful,” Dailly said. “They came to the door and said, ‘Malcolm, we love you guys, you’re part of our community.’”
Not everyone has been 100 per cent supportive though. One neighbour told Global News that she disagrees with flying the Pride flag.
“It represents the gay community as man with man or woman with woman. I don’t believe that’s right. I know it’s not right. It should be man and woman [who] should be married, the opposite sex. Not the same sex,” she said.
However, after her statements appeared on local television, Dailly says the neighbour came to his doorstep to apologize.

in hand authorities believe they have nabbed their killer. Police think
Simons is the "Station Strangler," South Africa's most notorious serial
killer, who may have killed 21 boys and a young man, all of mixed-race,
during an eight-year murder spree.
The "Station Strangler" is believed to have lured his victims away from
train stations. Most were found in shallow graves around Cape Town after
being sodomized and strangled. One body was found with a note that read:
"One more, many more in store." Elroy, his final victim, was last seen
boarding a train with Simons at Cape Town's Strand train station. His body
was found 10 days later with his hands tied behind his back. According to police, Simons claimed his brother, who was murdered in 1991, was living

he was at the scaffold he meanly snapped at the executioner, "Hurry it up,
you bastard. I could hang a dozen men while you're fooling around."
Larry Eyler
A homosexual killer struggling with life in the closet. Larry took
satisfaction wherever he could and then disposed of the evidence. At one
point, as the police investigated him, he sued them for half a million
dollars for "psychological warfare". At his first trial the evidence against him was found inadmissible in court and Eyler walked out on bail to carry on with his deadly forays. Eventually, his arrogance led to his undoing when he dumped the dismembered body of a male hustler in his garbage. His handiwork
got him the death penalty.
William Bonin

Freeway Killer" for his rape and murder spree during the late seventies. A sadistic, Vietnam vet, Billy boy liked to pick up male, teenage hitchhikers
to rape and strangle along the freeways of Southern California. Like most serial killers, Bonin was the product of an abusive childhood in the hands
of his alcoholic father and was thought to have been repeatedly sexually assaulted by his maternal grandfather. He also had brain damage in areas thought to restrain violent impulses and was manic-depressive. He was sent
to hell in 1996.
Marcelo Costa de Andrade
This mama's boy and religious homosexual psychopath of inoffensive
appearance is Brazil's most famous serial killer. The son of poor migrants
from the Northeast, Marcelo grew up in the Rocinha Slum in Rio de Janeiro.
He lived without running water and was beaten with regularity by his grandfather, his stepfather and his stepmother. When he was 10 he was
sexually abused. At 14 he began to prostitute himself for a living. He was
sent to a reform school, but escaped. Still hustling by 16, he began a long lasting homosexual relationship with an older man. At 17 he tried to rape
his 10-year-old brother.
When he was 23 his homosexual relationship ended and he came back to live
with his mother and brothers who had moved to Itaborai, another slum on the other side of the polluted Guanabara Bay. There he found a a low-paying job distributing flyers for a shop in the district of Copacabana. He also joined the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God and started going to church four times a week. Despite some idiosyncrasies and his odd and incoherent
laughter, his life seemed normal. That is, until April 1991, at age 24, when
he started to kill.
Over a nine-month period Marcelo tallied 14 dead. His victims of choice were poor street urchins whom he attracted to deserted areas, raped and
strangled. He also practiced necrophilia, decapitated one of the boys,
crushed the head of another, and, in two occasions, drank their blood. Later
he confessed his vampiric thirst was merely "to become as beautiful as
them." Violence in Rio is common and the daily body count is so high that authorities never suspected the growing number of disappearing street
