Evening folks...
Win 10 computer upon which I run VRPC-DL and RPCEmu.

A short while ago on the Win 10 Networking, a device presented and I have
no idea what it is.

It has a monitor icon, "LUXOR 475637-Gen4", and properties on the icon produces:

"LUXOR 475637-Gen4

4a:6d:bb:48:b5:d7

Manufacturer: Vestel"

After about a minute the icon and "LUXOR 475637-Gen4" vanishes from the
filer network display, until the computer is at a later time booted.

The actual monitor in use on this machine is an Acer anyway.

Does anyone have any ideas what it is?

It's a Windows thing, and if google doesn't come up with anything, you
are unlikely to find anyone on a RISC OS news group that knows.

My guess is you are picking up the presence of a neighbours Bluetooth
device, so ignore.

After I posted yesterday I did some more searching and came upon the following...

"Luxor was a Swedish home electronics and computer manufacturer located in Motala, established in 1923 and acquired by Nokia in 1985. The brand name

the Swedish market.

And...

Originally a manufacturer of tape recorders, radios, television sets,
stereo systems, and other home electronics, it launched its first home computer, the ABC 80 in 1978. The succeeding ABC 800 series was introduced
in 1981 with new releases in 1983 being produced until the ABC line was terminated in 1986.
The brand name was later sold to the Norwegian retailer Elkj�p ASA, When British Dixons Retail bought Elkj�p in November 1999 they also acquired
the Luxor brand. In 2006 Turkish company Vestel acquired the Luxor brand.

Apparently they now sell Smart TVs.

As by default both WiFi and Bluetooth are Off in this house (Mostly cable)
I was wonder how it got into my machine?

Anyway, not important as I now have a handle on what it is.

Vestel make a wide range of brands of smart TVs, mostly brands that they've bought or licensed. For example Bush is a former UK manufacturer whose
brand was bought by Argos and licensed to Vestel, and so now Vestel make
Bush TVs and they're sold in Argos[*] and more recently Sainsbury's stores.
You can likely find a TV with very similar innards under another Vestel
brand.

My guess would that, given all this badge-engineering, Vestel share software across models and possibly their identifiers have got mixed up. Maybe you
have a smart TV made by Vestel under another brand and somehow it's claiming
to be the 'wrong' brand with its hostname?

Or alternatively your neighbour has managed to connect to your network
somehow?

modified RISC OS/NCOS, branded by Bush. I think that was before Argos

I have a small Luxor TV, probably around 10-15 years old.
Bought at Tesco.
