    I certainly have intermittent problems here with NewsHound and ES -
    including from 10am to 10:40 or so this morning. ok now.

    I've had a problem with e-s recently and have only just managed to
    resolve it an hour or so ago.
    I recently re-installed Linux Mint 21.3 on my laptop and had no trouble
    setting up my email accounts and a selection of c.s.a groups in Thunderbird.
    A couple of weeks ago, doing the same thing on my desktop machine
    appeared to be going well until I tried to download the complete list of newsgroups.
    Total failure!
    I've been tearing my hair out ever since. I contacted the group eternal-september.config but without success.
    Today, I invoked the nuclear option and exported the setup from the
    laptop and imported it into the desktop installation after deleting all
    the accounts.
    Success at last.
    There must have been some difference in the newsgroup setup which I
    couldn't spot - despite my best endeavours.
    What a relief!
    It's been important to get it set up because the version of NewsHound
    which I have (v152-32 14 Dec 10) and which came with NetFetch, doesn't
    allow me to post - only download. I understand that an update is in the
    offing.
    Sorry to hijack your thread but I just had to offload my frustration.

    I have NewsHound v1.54 (3-May-21). Works perfectly send & receive with
    Eternal September. Apparently this version was developed to cope with ES problems.

    If you follow the apps link to Joseph Heenan's website, that only leads
    you to v1.52.

    I don't seem to have kept a note as to whence 1.54 cometh.

    Someone here might be able to enlighten us.

    Just remembered. Dave Higton might be involved in producing it. Joseph
    Heenan has sanctioned this copy for public use.

    I had that error for a little bit, but all seems OK so at the moment.
